Scissors of the Moirai by Tiffani Hollis Mixed Media on Paper

Soft Pastel, Pastel Pencil, Watercolor, & Ink on Paper 8"x10"

Moirai is the Roman name for the Fates, immortal goddesses from ancient Greco-Roman mythology. The eldest Fate wielded the scissors that cut the thread of life. She was destined from birth to spend eternity at this dreadful task, as her sisters were destined to spin and measure the threads of life. There are so many places in this world, often those war-torn, where children are born into a life not of their choosing; a life where they will bear burdens from which death would be a blessing.
